Dan was born in Oklahoma and was there until graduating from high school. Dan was always taking in sick and injured animals and known throughout the town that he would take them. From an early age he kept and bred Afghan Hounds . Eventually the family said some of the animals have to go and Dan began selling some. Dan opened his first pet store when he was 12 years old.
After high school he went to the University of Miami and the University of Florida. While in school he worked part time at a large animal importing company. After school he was offered a job traveling to other countries to make sure animals were being handled and shipped properly and safely. This went on for five years.
The same company offered Dan an opportunity to move to Honolulu and operate two federal bird quarantine stations for birds arriving from Asia. After moving and getting settled Dan opened a dog import company bringing dogs from Australia to Hawaii to avoid a four month quarantine. Later opening seven retail pet supply stores in Hawaii and California until closing them in 2011.
Currently Dan is living in Omaha, Nebraska with his family. His family has two retail pet supply stores in Omaha which allows Dan to keep a pulse on current retail pet.
Dan took the offer to work for All Creatures because of knowing and working with Danielle and the quality of companies All Creatures represents.
